I’m only covering the computers that I used extensively from 1981 to 1996. Feel free to compare these computers to what Engelbart and Kay helped create in the 1960s and ’70s.
[...] Here’s a post from a guy who’s collected quite a bit of nice historical information into one giant blog entry he calls Great Moments in Modern Computer History. It includes some interesting video, and a link to the mother of all demos, something I was very impressed by the first time I saw it a few years ago. [...]

Great post! One slight correction I would make is that the Macintosh started out as a graphical computer. Since Steve Jobs kept trying to kill it, Jef Raskin suggested that he visit his old buddies at Xerox PARC in the hope that he would "get it" and leave Macintosh alone.

I have a list of Smalltalk related online movies at http://www.smalltalk.org.br/movies/ and the movie "Squeakers" (not available online, unfortunately) includes some old footage showing the cardboard Dynabook model next to a HP35 calculator.

There is a lot of information about the $100 Laptop on their site (http://laptop.org/), specially in their wiki.
